Virtual Caire - Care with AI Inside

Our vision is to make the healthcare system work and produce better care, more efficiently, while managing costs. We need a better-connected, better-automated approach. ERP systems were born from computer-driven, expensive manufacturing machines that required specific, time-consuming configuration linked to market and delivery. The systematization of manufacturing with ERPs made the processes more efficient, more cost effective, and maintained high quality standards. We believe that healthcare model needs to be integrated, but unlike traditional ERP that is based around producing quality goods, we believe the healthcare model should be based on the care delivery model. The orchestration of the data and processes within and alongside the real-time human care model has the potential to radically improve efficiency and quality in care delivery.

Our vision of an integrated system is a vision of better health. We support doctors struggling with the state of healthcare technology, patients worrying about the cost of care, and administrators battling through forests of regulations. We want the promise to be fulfilled – efficiency, ease, and precision. We see the increase of efficiency in seamless communication, less administrative busy work, automation and optimization of workflows. We see the improvement ease with intuitive, interoperable software, and context-driven applications that are ready for the way the user wants to get to work. We see precision in patient-centric care plans, data-driven medicine, clinical algorithms, and the delivery of germane data exactly where it’s needed, when it’s needed. We want a system that handles the planning, iteration, and optimization value-based care to ensure that patients get the best care they can, administrators achieve business priorities, and every care provider is paid for the work they do.

Aplacare believes that this will not happen until there is an open, automated operational layer. There are two disciplines that need to come together to make this work. First the operational layer goes by many names - workflow, clinical, or care - it is where people actually care for people. The step needed is to create a cloud-based computer structure that works like what is occurring in the real world. From there automation is added so that all the little individual processes are shepherded along by the cloud which will see to it that things are getting done. This part is called automation or orchestration.

Second, the cloud needs to use disciplines from artificial intelligence to accomplish the orchestration. It needs to "understand" optimal choices in order to supply advice. It needs to learn from past orchestrations what is optimal in a specific context. And greatest it need to apply personalization and precision of choices to individual actors - patients and providers - in recommending or guiding. That part we call cognitiveintelligent or smart.

The best practice approach will be to offer this in the cloud like a clinical-ERP system or some have called it a clinical informatics platform. To provide the richness of solutions for the industry, we want this platform to be an open operational layer. It should be as simple and easy to plug thing in as a home telephone, which allows anyone to plug in a device and begin to communicate and exchange information with others, even in different countries, with different setups, and with very complex underlying environments. This would enable us and the healthcare community we support to achieve our goals of efficient, easy, precision across healthcare.

Aplacare calls the solution that would make this possible "Virtual Caire - care the AI inside". We successfully implemented one in a small town and in the lab. We are now on the pathway to commercialize our solution and build a business. We believe every hospital and provider will want one because we already have customers who have signed up and volunteered to help us build our products and insistent in investing in our next round.
